Miguel Amengual

Miguel Amengual is a Managing Director in the global aviation practice, based in Germany. Miguel has more than 15 years of significant aviation strategy experience both in the industry and as a trusted advisor to clients across the globe. He brings a broad understanding of airlines with a focus on fleet, product, and aircraft maintenance. Prior to joining FTI Consulting in 2023, Miguel was part of Seabury Consulting and Accenture.

As a trusted advisor, Miguel has led teams to significantly improve the bottom line for leading industry players. He has led various engagements such as aircraft acquisition negotiation, aftermarket services fit-for-purpose design, performance improvements, organizational reviews, fleet lifecycle management improvements (both cost and utilization) and product business cases. He has also supported investors and financial institutions performing airline due diligences, capital raising endeavors and restructurings.

Miguel started his career at an Airbus research institute, Bauhaus Luftfahrt, and Star Alliance (in network and membership development) before moving to Airberlin to lead different strategic departments (including the overall COO project portfolio and the guest experience strategy department). Because of his previous industry experience, Miguel firmly believes that the best results are achieved by working hand-in-hand with clients to deeply understand their challenges and implementing worldwide best practices.

Miguel holds an M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering and a postgraduate diploma in International Commerce from the Technical University in Madrid. He fluently speaks Spanish, English and German.
